Connect the dots & accomplish your #lifegoals
Sometimes people don’t start because they don’t know where, they know what they want but they just don’t know what action to take.
In my last post, I told you to take an action that aligns with your ideal life or the way you want to live your life. Your ideal life won’t just come about one day & present itself “I’m here!” no, it’s something that will manifest itself by making them a part of your current life.
What is them exactly? Well if you break down your ideal life, what are the things that are adding value to your life or contributing to the happiest version of you? By doing this you are slowly aligning with what you want by making time for, or incorporating each activity into your life instead of waiting & expecting all these things to happen to you all at once. It’s a lot like reinventing yourself, because some of the things that you are doing right now could actually be pulling you in the wrong direction instead of where you want to go. And this is where it gets interesting because not everything is as easy as thinking about what you want and then doing it. Why is that? Because everything that you want to be a part of your life is going to have its challenges & milestones. Like let’s say you want to be the editor of a magazine, start your own podcast, & become a fashion guru on Instagram; let’s imagine this is what your ideal life would look like. These are end goals, not starting points. You have to break down each step of the process because trying to accomplish all 3 things at once is going to lead to burnout. Just knowing what you want, and breaking down the steps to know how to get there will help you connect the dots to your ideal life goal. With the example I gave you, having a podcast would be a good way to gain followers on Instagram & this in return will give you more influence as a fashion guru. And then you have the option of making your podcast about fashion, or making it about anything else you are passionate or care about. Usually I find that since we are complex beings, not just sticking to one theme in everything we do, but incorporating our different interests works the best in terms of feeling fulfilled and happy.
And that magazine editor job? Use the publicity from your job to get listeners on your podcast, and to network with people you would want to have come on. Of course there’s so many more steps that go into accomplishing everything, but really taking the time to break everything down is a great starting point. You aren’t going to start living your dream life right off the bat, but you will be creating a pathway to get there.
